Consumer

We have already described most of the analogies between electricity and water circuits: the pipes correspond to the pipes, the pressure difference to the voltage and the pump to a voltage or current source.

As a final analogy, the consumer is missing. In the water cycle, this is the turbine or water wheel that extracts energy from the water. In the electric circuit, it must be something analogous that resists the current. This can be anything: a lamp , a mobile phone while charging , a refrigerator or even a television set . The symbol in the circuit for a consumer is shown as a circle with an inner cross.
